The holiday season is upon us and you and your family will soon be busily ushering in the new year. The Oregon Garden Foundation Board would like to take this opportunity to thank you for helping The Oregon Garden blossom through your generous gifts of time, talent, donations and membership.
As a volunteer Board of Directors and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on your generosity to continue our mission of supporting the promotion and growth of The Oregon Garden. We hope we can count on your support this year; donations made by December 31st are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
We are excited about our recent accomplishments. Through donations big and small, we have been able to provide our horticulture team with new green houses and a new-to-us truck. We have also partnered with the Oregon Forest Resources Institute and others to build the Discovery Pavilion, creating a year-round home for the 7,500 students and adults who come to learn about the state’s forests. This building is also home to our second annual Christmas in the Garden event, and we hope you’ll join us.
Looking on to 2015, we need your assistance now more than ever. We are seeking your help to reach our $40,000 fundraising goal, which will allow us to replace five water pumps and purchase needed equipment including a John Deere Gator, a Walker Mower and a backhoe attachment for our tractor. In addition, our long-term goals include: the Conifer Garden Expansion, $1,000,000; building a searchable plant database, $135,000; and renovating the interior of the Fire Safe House, $100,000.
As the warmth of the holiday season approaches, we hope you will remember The Oregon Garden Foundation in your gift-giving plans. Donations can be made online, by mailing a check to: The Oregon Garden Foundation, P.O. Box 155, Silverton, OR 97381, or calling 503-874-2535. We appreciate your continued support, wish you a happy holiday season and look forward to seeing you in the Garden soon!
