Volunteer at Christmas in the Garden
Join the holiday fun by volunteering for Christmas in the Garden, November 24 – December 31. Volunteers receive a free admission to the event (to use any time during the event) as well as a volunteer care pack (on the day you volunteer). Double the merriment and volunteer with a friend or group! There are a number of volunteer positions available during Christmas in the Garden. See below for a brief description of the positions.

- Kid’s Activity Area
Volunteers partners will work together on the same shift and position. Volunteer groups will be working the same day/shift, but will be assigned to positions throughout the Garden in pairs. Students ages 14 and older may volunteer for certain positions with parental consent.

Current volunteers can sign up for volunteer shifts through the Online Scheduling Portal.
New volunteers should submit a volunteer application through one of the links below:

Volunteer shifts will be confirmed within 5 to 10 business days of application submission.
Volunteer Position Descriptions
Fire Pit Prep: This position is responsible for stocking firewood into specific locations in the forest so that the Fire Pit Monitors have easy access during event hours. Shift is generally 10 a.m. to noon on event days.
Fire Pit Monitor: This position is responsible for keeping the fire pits going during event hours, adding firewood, stoking the fire, etc. Shift is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on event days.
Greeter: The Greeters stationed at the VISITOR CENTER, LOWER GATE, and RESORT GATE welcome guests, assist Admission Staff with wristbands, and help direct visitors to the event areas. Shift is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on event days.*
Greeter/Tram Stop: The Greeter stationed at the TRAM STOP assists guests on/off the tram and help direct guests walking to the event area. Shift is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on event days.
Greeter/ Bosque: The Greeter stationed at the BOSQUE helps direct guests walking to the event area. Shift is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on event days.
Santa’s Helper: This position assists at Santa’s House, monitoring the line, assisting with visits to Santa. Ability to help visitors take photos with Santa is helpful but not required. Shift is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on event days.*
Information Booth: This position works with a staff member at the Information Booth, giving out information about The Oregon Garden and it’s programs, events, etc., as well as answering questions about Christmas in the Garden. Membership sales and volunteer recruitment are also included in the duties of this position. Shift is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on event days.
KID’S ACTIVITY AREA
Kid’s Activity Area: This position oversees the craft area set up for children. Assist with simple craft instruction, manage supplies and answer questions about Christmas in the Garden. Shift is 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on event days.
*Some of these positions do not have shifts between December 26th and December 31st.
