Is your Brewfest volunteer shift confirmed? Here is what you need to know next:
Please arrive at the J. Frank Schmidt Jr. Pavilion 15 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled shift so that you may get checked in and into your volunteer shirt before the volunteer briefing begins. The Pavilion is located next the Rose Garden & Tropical Greenhouse. View the Oregon Garden Map. The first 30 minutes of your shift will include the volunteer briefing, booth assignment (if working as a server) and a short training on serving. It is required that you attend this briefing to be able to volunteer. You will also receive a brief training (OLCC for servers) and will pick up your volunteer t-shirt and name badge. Your presence and promptness in showing up for your shift on time is appreciated. If your schedule should change please notify us ASAP. You are committing to volunteer for the shift(s) you signed up for. If for some reason you are unable to attend, please find a replacement and advise us of the change. Remember that all volunteers must be 21 years of age or older. No drinking is allowed before or during your shift per state liquor laws.
You may park on-site at no charge – give the parking attendant your name and let them know you are volunteering. You may also park off-site and take the free shuttle to the Visitor Center (this is recommended). We have a dedicated on-site parking lot for volunteers that is near the Pavilion – follow the signs to this lot. If you are working a later shift, you may need to park off-site. The shuttle will drop you off at the Visitor Center – let the security staff know you are here for your volunteer shift and then walk down to the Pavilion.
For your generous efforts at Brewfest you will receive the following: official volunteer t-shirt (your uniform during your shift), and 3-day festival admission to the Brewfest, which includes a tasting glass and 5 tasting tickets.
To use your free admission to the Brewfest, you will need to go through the security station in the admission area, then go to the will call area and provide your name to receive your wristband, tasting glass and tasting tickets. Please note that the wristband allows you entry any or all of the three days but you will receive only on tasting glass and one set of tasting tickets.
If you are staying after your volunteer shift, we will check your ID and wristband you at volunteer check-in. Once your shift is over, you will need to change out of your volunteer shirt and then head to The Oregon Garden information booth to pick up your glass and tasting tickets.
Thank you for giving your time to help make this event successful and fun. Without volunteers, this event would not be possible. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Beth Maurer, Volunteer Coordinator at 503-874-2533 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
