Bird Walk

10:00 – 11:45am

Starting at the Visitor Center, guests will enjoy a guided bird walk through the Garden, during which time they will learn about and look for the inter-migratory birds in the area in May, as well as native birds and their behaviors. Binoculars are encouraged!

Lunch

11:45am – 1:00pm

During the day’s lunch break, guests are encouraged to eat sustainably and support locally-owned small businesses:

Poetry Writing

1:15 – 3:15pm

An open-air poetry writing workshop will be hosted by the Silverton Poetry Association. Local poet Steve Slemenda will facilitate guests in writing poetry in response to two prompts. Guests are encouraged to bring a favorite journal and / or writing implement – however, blank paper and pens will be provided. Location to be determined.

Poetry Reading

3:15pm

The day concludes with an outdoor poetry reading. Workshop guests are invited (but not required) to stay and share their poetry. All poets at any level are invited to attend and share their work. Location to be determined.

Throughout the day, local businesses Lunaria Gallery and Serenity Home and Spa will be offering a selection of nature-themed goods in support of the event. Visit Lunaria Gallery for paintings, prints and cards, and take a trip to Serenity Home and Spa to receive 10% off select items.
