ARTISTS

Jenny Ellsworth

Jenny found her passion for welding while working as a commercial metal fabricator. She found herself seeing the potential in the “throw away” metal to create sculptures and give this material a second life. Her work is inspired by the plants nad critters she finds in nature.

Mo Hurless

Mo creates large-scale freestanding sculptures out of recycled industrial materials that replicate organic forms including plants, animals and abstract shapes.

Judy Kunkle

Judy grew up in California and now resides in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Her degrees include Graphic & Fine Arts with exploration in sculpture, drawing, painting and mosaics. She is inspired by the beauty of everyday objects and believes strongly in reusing and repurposing materials to make less waste for future generations.

Mary Mosier

Mary creates whimsical garden art, joyfully handcrafted from reclaimed, salvaged and found materials, including bird “abodes”, stakes, signs and wreaths.

Mark & Wendy Noll

Mark grew up in Massachusetts, wanting to be a marine biologist. To this day he continues to take inspiration from the ocean, as he creates metal works in the form of birds, whales, dragonflies and more.

Daryle Ryder

Growing up in Astoria, Oregon, Daryle was given many opportunities to explore different kinds of art. She has enjoyed fused glass classes with a number of well known artists and has done studio work with friends while living in Eugene. Since moving to Salem she has opened her own studio again and continues to share her work.

Heather Skinner

Heather grew up in the Eugene, Oregon area, and has since then continually lived in the Willamette Valley, inspired by its lush botanical beauty. In her ceramic art, she is continually inspired by the natural world around her. Her pieces explore organic form in a fusion of the natural world and her imagination.

Betsy Soifer

Betsy was born and raised as an artists’ child in suburban eastern Pennsylvania. She enjoys the challenge of converting recycled scraps of metal (including kitchenware, plumbing parts, construction hangers, hub cabs, knobs) into whimsical creatures for folks to smile at and enjoy.

Susan & Dan Wheeler

In her McMinnville, Oregon studio, Susan designs and kiln-fires individually crafted glass pieces that are assembled in a variety of colors, shapes and patterns creating beautiful hanging art pieces and stakes in nature and garden inspired designs.

Lauren Wingert

Lauren first collected glass, then as a glass dealer bought and sold glass in antique malls. As her interest grew, she decided to try her hand at making it. “The heavenly city has pearly gates, walls like gems, and streets like glass. I see art made of glass as a sneak peek of things we have yet to see,” she says.

If you or someone you know would be interested in showcasing their work during our 2023 season, please reach out to jmeisenheimer@oregongardenfoundation.org
