SPECIALTY GARDENS

Silverton Market Garden This garden, developed by a local citizen's committee, celebrates the agricultural commodities of the Willamette Valley, referred to since pioneer days as the Eden at the end of The Oregon Trail. Many of the 147 crops that are grown in Oregon are represented, including fruit trees, berries, vegetables, and wild flowers.
A rill filled with water runs through the center of the garden and ends in a small waterfall, symbolizing nearby Silver Falls. A large structure graces one end of the garden, where Oregon Garden Founders have their names etched in granite. From this structure special events and tastings highlight Oregon Agriculture. Within the Silverton Market Garden is The Garden Patch; a garden designed, planted and maintained by children.
