The Oregon Garden
Foundation
Thank you from the Board of Directors
We respect and honor those that came before us. We recognize their years
of hard work to create a botanical showcase and a new visitor’s
attraction in Oregon. We share their vision and, with your continued
support, will ensure that The Oregon Garden blooms forever.

In the beginning
Some had a vision, an idea to create a botanical garden to showcase
Oregon’s significant nursery diversity for Oregonians and others to
enjoy. Some believed it was possible and donated time and money. It was
not easy. The Oregon Garden site in Silverton was selected in 1995,
groundbreaking occurred in 1997, and the grand opening was in 2001.
Today
Because of continued support, the Garden is blooming. The Oregon Garden
is still recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization, and
donations are still tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The
Garden is still overseen by The Oregon Garden Foundation Board of
Directors, which is composed of volunteers.
The Foundation Board is diligent about ensuring that expenses do not
exceed revenues. Maintenance of The Garden continues to be a high
priority to preserve prior investments. With the continued support of
donors, needed improvements and expansions are now moving forward.
While the Foundation Board still maintains responsibility for The Oregon
Garden, management and day-to-day operations are performed by Moonstone
Garden Management.
